The comprehensive ADAS and CAV testing environment provides complete simulation capabilities across urban settings, interurban conditions, and highway scenarios.
Applus+ IDIADA, a leading global partner for automotive manufacturers is pleased to announce a significant expansion of its ADAS/CAV testing infrastructure at its Spain Proving Ground. This strategic investment underscores IDIADA’s commitment to supporting the development and validation of advanced mobility technologies, strengthening its position as a leading Euro NCAP accredited testing facility.
New ADAS/CAV Platform
Scheduled to begin operations in November 2025, the new ADAS/CAV platform will be the fourth dedicated ADAS/CAV track constructed within a five-year timeframe, reflecting the exceptional industry demand for these specialized testing services.
The main component will consist of a 1,000-meter straight section with 4 lanes, specializing in high-speed ADAS testing scenarios, including vehicle detection and lane keeping assistance, critical components for future autonomous driving technologies.
Extension of Intersection Testing Area
An additional dedicated area for intersection testing, scheduled for completion in February 2026, will significantly increase capacity.
This expansion comes at a critical time as active safety test protocols become increasingly rigorous regarding speed requirements, necessitating simulation scenarios with extended track lengths.
These expansions complement IDIADA’s existing Connected Vehicle Hub, which features dedicated 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G private cellular networks.
“As the demand for advanced ADAS and CAV technologies continues to grow, IDIADA is proud to invest in infrastructure that will enable our customers to develop and validate the next generation of mobility solutions” states Xavier Cabús, Head of Proving Grounds.
